Malcolm Muggeridge wrote about British Prime Ministers and what he said applies entirely to our elected leaders:
We like to persuade ourselves that our leaders betray the trust imposed in them and distort the aspirations of those who elect them. Actually they represent us all too exactly…No one is miscast. Each leaves the country appreciably [...]
Obama, over and over again, said that he supported tax increases ONLY for those with a household income of $250,000 and above. Well, I don’t make that and would consider that amount as above middle class, but still don’t support tax increases unless absolutely necessary.
Anyhow, I took careful note when I heard [...]
Cameron Strang, the publisher of “Relevant” magazine, and son of Stephen Strang (publisher of “Charisma” magazine and books), has had ongoing dialogue with Barack Obama about issues of faith and public policy.
I want to say right away that I am grateful for such dialogue. It rarely hurts to have a talk, unless [...]
Mike Huckabee was well received to say the least. He left with a standing ovation crowd chanting as if at a rock concert wanting an encore. It has been predicted by some pundits that the speech excited some conservatives who are bummed at the prospects of a McCain candidacy.
The following is my response to a couple posts from respectful and thoughtful Mormons. Their comments are found at: http://endued.wordpress.com/2007/12/20/does-mitt-romney-have-any-integrity-even-newsweek-is-questioning-his-tactics/
Ty and Kenneth, Thanks for your thoughtful response. I have had past experiences with LDS folks as well and I have the utmost admiration for their way of life, love for family, and [...]
Read this link from Newsweek on Romney’s latest attack ad on Huckabee: http://www.newsweek.com/id/80949
Mitt Romney’s second waves of attacks on Huckabee are laughable. Even Newsweek is pointing out how dishonest and misleading Romney is being.
Maybe I am hitting below the belt on what I am about to say, [...]
Mitt Romney has sent some folks to Arkansas to probe into Mike Huckabee’s record…desperately hoping to expose something harmful to Mike Huckabee. This is the same Romney that wants amnesty for his reversal on major moral issues, such as his switch on Abortion. He went from not just being mildly pro-abortion, but actually attended Planned [...]
Fred Thompson has been endorsed by NATIONAL RIGHT TO LIFE (http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2007/11/12/america/NA-POL-US-Thompson-Endorsement.php, http://www.nrlc.org/).
When looking at his conflicting position, in which he is basically trying to have the best worlds, I am appalled that the National Right to Life would support him over Mike Huckabee. Thompson has supported 1st trimester abortions [...]
