Richard Gaffin on Election as Means to Holiness (not just Justification)
|August 29, 2012||Posted by Rick Hogaboam under Discipleship/Sanctification, Justification, Sanctification, Soteriology, Theology|
Appreciate these clarifying words from Dr. Richard Gaffin, who exhorts us all to better understand that the aim or telos of electing grace does not end with justification, but rather our being conformed into the image of Christ. Our judicial pardoning is not the end all/be all of election, but itself a means to our sanctification. This is not Roman Catholic, this is Pauline – may we all strive for the holiness for which we were purchased, all for his glory.
